My group has been very busy with these fine motor activity jars. I made one and it wasn’t enough, everyone wanted one!
Once I got started, I found a big variety of jars they could work with. I’m sure there’s more great ideas to be found out there, but these are what we have going now.
A two year old today, said “I’m so busy!” and he was, working so hard! It’s rewarding doing activities like this, even calming, besides building eye hand coordination, developing sorting skills and small hand muscles. I love to see the concentration!
The circles on top of the oatmeal canister could have been colored for sorting the colors to make it more challenging.
I was so impressed with the 15 month old figuring this out so quickly. He was a little fussy so I gave him the mayo jar and showed him what to do. It was all quiet. Next time I looked down, he had several in the jar! Little smarty!!

:-D Perfect activity for little hands. I know my toddlers and a few of my preschoolers really do love this type of thing. Actually, for convention this year I used foam circles and a small plastic piggy bank for Trent.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I need to make some of these..
ReplyDeletewow what a lot of great ideas. I have done kebab skewers in parmesan cheese shaker but you have really inspired me to make a few more.
